Ronald Douglas Madsen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Madsen, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Ron passed away just 14 days before his 80th birthday. True to who he was throughout his life, he continued working, building, helping, and looking after the people around him right until the very end.

In 1977, Ron started R.D.M. Enterprises Ltd. as a small, family-run construction business. What began with hard work, determination, and a willingness to take on whatever job was put in front of him grew over nearly five decades into the RDM Group of Companies—a diverse family enterprise involved in civil construction, excavation, demolition, road building, utilities, site preparation, equipment rentals, trucking, crushing, recycling, snow clearing and much more. Most recently growing grapes and seeing his vision of opening a Winery come to a reality.

But to those who knew Ron, his greatest accomplishment was never measured by the size of his equipment fleet, the number of projects completed, or the companies he built.

His greatest accomplishment was the people.

Ron had an extraordinary ability to see an opportunity, solve a problem, and—perhaps most importantly—help someone who needed a hand. Over the years, countless employees, friends, customers, business associates, contractors, and members of the community benefited from his generosity, advice.

He had an impact on so many and will be missed by many.
