Ron was born March 21, 1946, in the village of Rotheram, Yorkshire, England.
Ron, grew up in London where as an adult, he followed his mum Betty, (Nanny Bette) and worked for the London Underground, as a Brakeman. Soon after immigrating to Canada he was hired by BC Hydro as a Bus Driver. He retired after 32 years. But, driving a bus in Surrey wasn't enough, he signed up to be a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Cloverdale, Hall #8 for 18 years.
Ron wasn't one for hobbies as such, It was only natural for a little boy who grew up in London to love his trains. Ron carried this love all his life. Our den is filled with model trains and of course, fire trucks. He was an avid reader. We gave him an E-Reader for Christmas one year and although he hated new technology, he loved this one. He even learned how to order new books online, by himself, and soon I realized I created a monster.
Most of all he loved football (soccer) and his favorite club was, Fulham Football Club, the "Cottagers". He grew up in the Fullham area, which is in West London. He loved playing football with his mates as often as he could. His best memory was when his team in 1975, went to the FA Cup Final. The one and only time ever. Both He and his mum were there.
Everyone loved Ron. He loved everyone and was so easy to talk to and pick any topic. I could tell if he and the dog, Sophie, were late for dinner, that they stopped for a chat with a neighbor or two. When we lost our dog Louie and he wasn't walking around the neighborhood, people got worried. One day there was a knock on the door and it was Harold, our neighbor a few doors down. He had a worried look on his face and he said to me "Mary, where is Ron? Is he okay? Nobody has seen him for days" He's fine, he's just having his nap." As soon as he woke from his nap I informed him it was time to get another dog. Just a few weeks later and we adopted our dearest Sophie.
Remaining to cherish Ron's memory are Mary(wife), daughters, Samantha, and Lisa Morley(England) Jennifer Kliem(Alberta) Toby Kliem, Grandchildren Zoe (Lucas) & Lachlan Kliem, and Raymond Adams/Grandson.
