She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Stewart, her devoted husband of fifty-seven years; her children, Christopher (Jessica) of Abbotsford, BC, and Kari of Langley, BC; and her cherished grandchildren, Dawson of Abbotsford, BC and Marley of Langley, BC. She also leaves behind her brother, Wayne (Pam) Ulinder of Nanoose Bay, BC, and her nephews, Jon Ulinder (Iphigenie) of London, UK; and Geoffrey Ulinder (Andrea) of Victoria, BC.
Sandra was the only daughter of Robert and Ellen Ulinder. She was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, on February 24th, 1945.
Sandy loved her family fiercely. Her husband and children were her entire world, and her grandchildren were her absolute greatest joy; she was immensely proud of them, and they held the biggest pieces of her heart. Known for her bright and positive personality, Sandy loved connecting with new people as well as maintaining deep bonds with lifelong friends from her past. She attended several Flin Flon reunions and always maintained that Flin Flon was "the best place in the world to grow up."
Her years working at Sears gave her a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community. Her family fondly remembers how a simple trip to the mall with Sandy meant constantly running into people she knew, always stopping for a warm conversation.
Many long-time friends and relatives reached out to comfort her during her final days, and those visits and phone calls truly meant the world to her. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her oncologist, Dr. Ko and the wonderful staff at Abbotsford Hospital and the staff and volunteers at the Langley Hospice Residence for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to Sandra.
