Neil moved far away from our home town the year that his sister Joanne (and I) were born. That was at a time time when those distances seemed more impossible than they do now. How fortunate it was that he came to family reunions. That's how I got to know Neil and very much enjoyed his warm presence, easy going style and sense of humour. We are very saddened by his death. Huge condolences to his nearest kin and friends.

Uncle Neil - so fondly remembered, so dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  There are a great many stories and memories of our dear Uncle.  I'll never forget the dinner he cooked for the four of us kids – there were four of us under the age of 9 - he was in charge & cooking while Mom, his sister Darlene, was having baby #5!  “Kids I’m making you hamburgers”!  Pretty sure he fed the four of us liver & onions.  He was full of tricks!  Sundays and holidays – he was always with us and there was plenty of sibling bonding – Mom and Neil that is, in the basement making homemade wines.  As we got older, Uncle Neil was the cool Uncle always youthful, joining in the fun and games, and dishing up a good dose of jokes and teasing.  He was always up for a healthy debate and you had to be on your game to take the challenge.  I’m so sad you are gone and I will miss you.  Your absence will be heartfelt at our family gatherings.  But thank you Uncle Neil, I appreciate the love, laughter, kindness and good memories.   Always, Ramona xo

I have a life time of great memories of my Uncle Neil.  He attended every family gathering from birthday parties when we were little to family trips to Family Reunions.  We celebrated the Vancouver 2010 Olympics from the Opening concert to the final Gold Medal hockey game .  My family and I had so much fun with you and we will miss you but keep you forever in our hearts.
