1943-2012
Linda passed away peacefully in the company of Son and Granddaughter November 21st, 2012. She was preceded in death by her Son Mike in 2008. Survived by her Son Steve, Granddaughter Reilly and Sister Dorothy. She also leaves an incredibly loved large group of Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Cousins as well as countless 'adopted kids' there simply isn't the space to name you all here. If your Family has been on the south end for two generations or more it's almost impossible that your not related in some way.
She was born in the old birthing hospital in Coupeville on February 3rd, 1943 to Albert and Mildred Anderson. Linda was raised on the Anderson Family Homestead where from directly across the street she would ultimately settle, start her own family and go on to spend the majority of her adult life. Married to Con O'Sullivan in 1961, they had two children, Steve and Mike.
As a young Wife and Mother she worked at several jobs ultimately landing on what would become her lifelong career as a Real Estate Broker. In 1973 she opened her own Real Estate Brokerage office on Second Street in Langley which still exists today and had acted as the hub of the Langley Village she eventually went on to create and develop.
Along with several other business owners at that time, She was a very active, vibrant force in the process of bringing Langley from a boarded up group of buildings on First Street to the charming, thriving and beloved tourist destination of "Langley Village by the Sea" that we had seen it become.
Throughout this time she was also a very active Mother, throwing herself into all of the interests and activities her kids were involved in. Mike played every sport offered in school and Steve had a full time role in horses and and 4-H Clubs. Somehow she managed to never miss a game Mike was playing in or an event Steve was involved in with the horses.
When her kids had grown and go on to start their own lives she jumped into travel. Spending as much time going from Country to Country and Continent to Continent as possible. Eventually finding her dream location and setting up a second home in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Ultimately spending at least half of the year there.
During this time she was blessed with what would immediately become the greatest love of her life in her Granddaughter Reilly. If asked of her greatest passion, the most important event, the reason for her existence my Mom would sum it up in one word, Reilly.
Reilly and I along with the rest of Linda's Family would like to invite you to attend a commemoration of Linda's life on Sunday, December 2nd, 2:00 p.m. at the C.M.A. Church with a brief reception to follow at the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Office in the Langley Village.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Good Cheer Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
