Martin Henry Nelson

Martin Henry Nelson, age 70, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Langley, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on May 19th, 2014. He was born in Seattle, Washington on October 22, 1943 to the late Robert and Pauline Nelson.

He graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle, WA in 1961 and received an MBA from the University of Washington. He also served as an officer in the United States Navy.

He was married to his wife Karen for over 40 years. He retired from US West Communications in 1990. Martin was a beloved member of the Whidbey Island community and loved sprint car races and Peters PS Suisse bakery.

Martin is survived by his wife Karen, children Jill Nelson of St. Charles IL, Jennifer Hills (Chris) of Newcastle WA, and Chris Nelson (Megan) of Mill Creek ,WA. He is also survived by grandchildren Aaron, Abby, and Kate.

Donations in his name may be made to the charity of your choice or to the American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of life will be held on June 21 at the home of Christopher and Jennifer Hills.
