It has been a year as of today and there hasn’t been a day that Dad hasn’t been thought of or remembered in some way; be it a tool I found, stuff we still find hidden, his clothes which still hang in his closet, even to the clothes I wear in remembrance of him hoping to just receive a “ whiff “ of his scent, causing joyous memories that come flooding back like they happened yesterday. Dad is with the Lord Our God as Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 so stipulates, “ Or ever ( when death arrives ) the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. (7) Then shall the dust return to the Earth as it was ( his physical body ): and the spirit shall return unto God ( the triune Father, Son , and Holy Spirit , which said let’s create man in Our image ) Who gave it ( or created it ). “
So today let’s not be down, let’s remember my Dad in all the good times and remember all the his words and instances where he made us laugh, made us cry, and in his own way effected everyone that was lucky enough to know him. God bless his soul Amen. 

You always want the best for your sister.  My wish was granted.  Sharon and Tony were a great team and had what most of us always hoped for, a friend for life.  I didn't get to see enough of Tony.  Loved him a lot.

Tony’s friendly face and kind demeanor will be greatly missed at the events he so regularly attended in support of his grandsons. Rest In Peace. 

Sharon our thoughts and prayers are with you. We had some great times when the boys were playing soccer. We also had a great time when we went cross country skiing and Tony had to pull me out of the deep snow. We will miss seeing you at MSU basketball games. We know Tony is at peace now.

This picture was taken late summer.  Such a beautiful afternoon with Tony, Sharon and  our cousin Linda.  Tony always welcomed us up to the cottage and there have been so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.

Tony has been a true friend for over 40 years. We shared cat duties when they were up north and when I was away, Tony helped with my cat.  Tony was always willing to help with the snow, or rake leaves, or mow or pull weeds. We shared many laughs and chores.  He was a true perfect neighbor. I wonder who will offer to change the oil in my lawn mower now?  I am so thankful to have known Tony and family for over 40 years.

Tony was a good boss at the USPFO. But he was also a great friend.

Tony always had a smile on his face and was welcoming and kind.  He will certainly be missed.

We have been close friends with Tony and Sharon for more than 20 years.  We both have cabins up north close to each other.  We have traveled together just the four of us and have shared trips with others in Squire Valley throughout the years.  We have lots of good memories with Tony and Sharon.  We are going to remember Tony through all the good times we have had together.
Every year we do kayak trips on the AuSable or the Manistee, sometimes just the four of us, sometimes with a larger crew from Squire Valley.  We will remember Tony in his yellow kayak with his feet and legs out of his cockpit dangling over the side of his kayak, with a beer in one hand floating down the river.  In the spring Tony always had a small hand saw in his kayak to clear away any blockages created during the winter.  Tony was always ready to get out of his kayak and help fellow travelers over rough spots in the river. We remember one holiday weekend when we were kayaking with a group of us from Squire Valley when a well-lubricated group on shore, yelled ‘show us your boobs for free beer’, so Tony pulled up his shirt, and gratefully accepted a free beer.
Tony was like the unofficial mayor of our Squire Valley enclave.  If we needed work done on our private road, Tony would get with the neighbors to make it happen.  If someone new moved in Tony was quick to make their acquaintance and welcome them.  If we wanted to know what was going on we checked with Tony and Sharon.
Tony, we will keep you in our hearts.  You will be sorely missed but never forgotten.


I went to high school with Tony and we were very good friends and I always remembered him with pleasant thoughts of a really really nice guy. I’m so sorry for your loss. It is our loss also. From the class of 1962.
