You welcomed me into your world with arms wide open when we met. I’ll never forget the nights in the summer of 2007 when we rode around together for hours, hanging out and just talking about life. I wish we had never lost contact with one another. I miss you brother, I love you brother. Til we meet again......

We had only just met! You came into my life when I thought I would have no more happiness! You made me laugh uncontrollably the first night we met! I felt like I had known you my whole life! Our time was cut too short as it was for all who knew you. I ask God everyday for strength and peace for your family as they grieve for the most extraordinary man I have ever met! I am grateful for the time we did have! Until I see you again, rest easy! Honi honi babe!

Sending love and prayers of comfort and healing to Kalei and B.J.'s entire family.  I always enjoyed running into B.J. at tailgates, get togethers and other events.  He had a special ability to make everyone feel like a good friend.  His funny, fun, kind soul will be missed forever.  Good bye.  Until we meet again.  A hui hou.

As a lifelong Resurrection parishioner, seeing BJ at Mass over the years gave me such a sense of continuity and of the lifelong community that our faith provides. The last time I saw him was in August. Stopped at an intersection, I was staring out the passenger window when a truck pulled up next to me. Slowly I realized the face I was looking at was one I recognized -- BJ! Huge smiles slowly spread across both our faces, even though we spoke no words. A moment later as the lights changed and we went our separate ways. My husband said - "Man, that guy was REALLY smiling at you. It was almost a little longer than is appropriate!" and I had to explain through belly laughs that I'd known BJ all my life. 
I'm so grateful for that last little moment, and I will always remember the warmth of his smile.

Our Ohana was so blessed to have him in our lives. B.J. always carried with him the aloha spirit with his huge heart and big smile.We will miss him dearly!

I'm so saddened to hear this. I hadn't realized that he had passed, and know he's leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. BJ was a distant cousin and had gotten to know each after meeting at a couple reunions and while I was planning my wedding. we were just talking last week of the All Blacks. Prayers and thoughts for her adorable son.

I'm gonna miss you brother. Even though your mom takes care of me I still feel like I'm part of the family.

My deepest sympathy to the family. BJ was  a dear high school friend of our son, Brandon.  He will forever be in our hearts.

You have left all with a huge void that can never be filled...you were a great Daddy B.J. always putting Xavier on the top of your list...I hope all can see what a loss it truly is for the world and I hope we all pick up where you left off..love and kindness..you had it all in a heart the size of Texas , may you make the angels laugh like never before , dance like no one is watching and sing like no one is listening..you will never be forgotten. Dear Kalahiki/Piersante clan -  Your loss is enormous, sad and sobering. I pray the solace of Faith will help soothe the awful ache. I was so sorry to hear of B.J.'s passing.  He is a distant relative and met him at a few family reunions.  I remember from a reunion way back that he introduced me to Ace of Base. While I didn't know him well, he was always  very nice and friendly. May your hearts and souls find peace and comfort.
