Carol June Horst

Born December 12, 1949 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Harvey and Ruth (Gemalsky) Slate, passed away April 14, 2013 at the age of 63. Carol was a resident of Lansing her entire life, graduating from Eastern High School. She retired from Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes where she worked as an administrator for many years. Carol loved to travel around the state with her husband visiting various casinos, the Little River Casino being their favorite. She was a true Spartan fan, an avid reader and enjoyed the time she spent with her countless friends. Carol will be remembered for her kind, generous and thoughtful spirit as well as being a marvelous cook. Preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband Henry in 2012. Surviving to cherish her memory are her cousins, Barb (Terry) Becker, Karan (Dick) Ream, LaDonna (Red) Moore, Joe (Shelly) Brown, and Dick (Sandy) Gemalsky, as well as numerous other cousins; brother-in-law Harry Nongueskwa; her dearest friends, Elaine (Rudy) Simpson; her precious cat Cupcake who she loved. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI.
