Cruzito "Cruz" Medellin

Cruzito “Cruz” Medellin died of natural causes on February 28, 2025. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a baby, Cruz defied all odds by reaching milestones and winning battle after battle against numerous illnesses that plagued him in his short 17 years of life. With his loving, inquisitive, silly personality and his beautiful smile, Cruz touched the hearts of almost everybody who was lucky enough to interact with him. Cruz loved going up north, playing on his tablet, and goofing around with his brothers.

Cruz is survived by his parents, Daniel and Jayme (Pettibone) Medellin; his amazing brothers, Julian, Jesse, Luca, and London; grandparents, Keith and Suzette (Piersante) Watson and James Pettibone and Keval Khalsa, Gonzalo Medellin Jr.; great-grandmother Joan Piersante; aunts, Cara Pettibone and Paige (Pettibone) and Danton Lloyd and Uncle Gonzalo Medellin III, along with many cousins who adored him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Gloria Medellin and his uncle, BJ Kalahiki.

No longer restrained by physical limitations and pain, his soul is now free to run around Heaven to his beautiful heart’s content.

Visitation for Cruz will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 3815 S Cedar St, Lansing, MI 48910. The funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2520 W Willow St, Lansing, MI 48917.
