Daniel was born on January 29, 1956, in Lansing, the beloved son of David and Helen Dail. He graduated from Everett High School in 1974 and soon after answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army. He served faithfully until his honorable discharge in 1978.
With a heart for wellness and healing, Daniel spent many years working as a personal trainer and massage therapist. At the age of 50, he pursued a long-held dream by enrolling at Logan University, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007. He spent the remainder of his career at Delta Chiropractic, where he was deeply valued by his patients and coworkers for his kindness, dedication, and care.
Daniel’s passions were as diverse as they were vibrant—he had a lifelong love for smooth jazz, boxing, and enjoyed exploring new places through travel. A talented drummer in his youth, he never lost his rhythm for life. He was also famously known for his “dad jokes,” regularly sending playful texts to family members just to bring a smile or a laugh. His sense of humor and lighthearted spirit were constants in the lives of those who knew him.
He was a faithful member of Mount Hope Church and found great joy in serving others, especially through the church’s nursing home ministry.
Family was at the center of Daniel’s world. He loved gathering his family for vacations and treasured hosting his annual cookout to watch the fireworks at Sharp Park—a tradition filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He is survived by his children, Ebony (Jwan) Randle and Brandon (Raeshell) Dail; grandchildren, Deon (Alana), Jadynn, Jwan, Jolan, Josiah, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Ava; great-grandchildren, Londyn and August Daniel; and sisters, Pamela (William) Dail-Whiting and Marcia Cooper. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and cherished patients.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Helen Dail.
Daniel will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service for Daniel will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1:00pm with a family visitation one hour prior at Mount Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Rd. Lansing, MI 48917.
