David A. Hughes passed away peacefully in his home on September 26, 2021 in Lansing, MI at the age of 72. Dave was born October 17, 1948 in Bay City, MI. He retired from General Motors in 2006 after 35 years with the company. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed collecting and working on classic cars and hot rods. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Louise M. Lewandowski-Hughes and Anthony Hughes Jr.; wife, Elizabeth (Jayne) Lauer-Hughes; daughter, Tracy Hughes-Brock; brothers, Mark Hughes-Heading and Jim (Nancy) Hughes. Surviving are his sister, Mary Lou (Ken) Russell; son-in-law, Jim (Trish) Brock; grandchildren, Haley and Corey Brock; special friend, Sue Cole; many nieces and nephews; numerous great friends and his furry companion, Doc.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Delta Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
