Delbert Lee Personious passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26th at his home in Ovid. He was born August 29, 1942 to Alfred and Esterella (Holton) Personious. He married Judy (Sypher) in 1964. Together they had three children.
Delbert was a strong, hard working man. His passion was working on cars and trucks, particularly Ford's. He worked for many different auto repair businesses, but was happiest when he worked for himself in his own garage. He often woke up early and headed out to the garage to work late into the night only to come out to eat his meals. He taught his sons, and anyone who wanted to learn, everything he knew about cars. Delbert was generous to a fault. He helped anyone who needed it. He made friends everywhere he went. He would visit them often and they would come and visit him in his garage, talking for hours. He loved to talk about cars and what he was currently working on.
When he wasn't working on cars, he enjoyed watching old westerns, especially John Wayne. But his favorite pastime was fishing. He would fish with anyone who wanted to go with him. His main fishing buddies were his brother, Allen and his Uncle Elwin and now they are all reunited and fishing together once again.
Delbert is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allen Personious. He is remembered by his wife, Judy; children, Kevin (Katie) Personious, Randy Personious and Sharre Elliott; grandchildren, Nicole and Danielle Personious, Zachary, Tucker, Kegan, Cassidy and Piper Elliott; great grandchildren, Dakota and Mia Personious, Myla Elliott and James Russell; and sister, Kay Osborn; as well as, numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial celebrating his life will take place at his home on August 29th at 1 pm. 6426 East Taft Road, Ovid, Michigan 48866. In respect to everyone's safety, CDC guidelines regarding the Corona Virus will be followed. Please wear face coverings.
