I  remember Delores, De, "Dee Dee," from our family's first days in the Verlinden neighborhood.  She was a quiet person, but she walked up  and  introduced herself. "I"m Dee Dee."  She lived just around the corner, so her mom sometimes gave my sister and me rides to highschool.  She played violin, and  I sometimes played cello  in ensembles with her.  At Sexton, she switched  to French horn (sigh). I can still envision her in her cute green jumper, holding her horn, and earnestly talking to someone in the band!   
My condolences to Tom and the family. And 50+ years of marriage! What a treasure!

De's was a consequential life with much accomplished socially and environmentally, filling the dash, as they say, with much to honor.  Since our lives diverged as Juniors in High School  when I  moved  to Detroit, my memories  are of our West Junior High days where De and I shared classes in the sciences. 

De Owen was a dear friend and someone that I knew as genuinely kind, thoughtful, inquisitive, focused, inspired, fun and devoted young woman. Junior high is a formative time and outside of my band family she was a friend where I felt comfort and respect. So it was a joy to later find that she had found love and a devoted spouse in one of my best friends from elementary school, Tom. 

As Tom and family have shared, De was a great wife mother and grandmother, obviously in love for her children and received  much love back from them and her grands. Those are the memories that I cherish.

Our most deepest sympathy, Tom,  Patrick, (Kayla), Addie, Khloe, Ava, Mandy &(Sean) in loss of your sweet wife, De, Mom, & Grandma.
 We, the O'Malley's met in 2022 in Michigan  traveling to your woodlands of trails leading to your amazing log home ! Within those walls sat De with that gentle smile. In 2024, most memorable was seeing how everyone  of families enjoying the wedding of Mandy & Sean's and your De dancing! 
 In prayer, Into your hands, O Lord, rest in peace, De.

We were so very sorry to hear about De's passing. We have many good memories with your family from Brownies, football, walks at Woldumar and, of course, the Sparty van! We will always remember De's kindness, willingness to help and her smile. The world is a better place because she was in it. Praying for you during this time. Hugs to all of you.

De was an avid supporter of Earth Day Celebrations in Lansing.  She loved to talk to children about rocks and minerals.  She impressed others with her servant leadership, and her empathy.  Above all, she was a wonderful person, mother, and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed.

De was tops.  I had the privilege--mainly in the 1970s and 80s- of getting much-needed valuable hydrogeological input from her on some of the nastiest sites of contamination in Michigan.  So glad I crossed paths with De (and her coworkers!) those many years ago-- as well as occasionally throughout our careers.   Condolences and prayers go out to De and her loved ones.

De was a good friend and cross country skiing buddy.  De encouraged gatherings for mulled cider after gliding over trails.  De also taught classes on ski maintenance at Woldumar. She was also a supportive colleague and fun to work with. Our prayers and condolences to family and friends.  💕⛷️

I met Dee when I worked as a student assistant in the DNR in 1981.  What a caring, sharing person!  It always was a treat to see her when our work paths crossed; not often enough, unfortunately.  My sincere condolences to her family.

I had the pleasure of working with De for many years starting in 1978.  De was a dedicated geologist and the best of co-workers.  De became my supervisor and later promoted me to a unit supervisor in the hazardous waste program.  I will miss you De.  You were a long time and a very dear friend.  RIP.  My condolences to all of your family.

De was an invaluable member of our crafting group. So many projects, so many laughs, and lots of wonderful meals together. I’m so thankful for these non-work, precious times together. ♥️
