Age 83, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011. He was born on July 26, 1928 in Clark County, WI to Jesse E. and Elsie Anna Clara (Meyer) Rowe. Doug worked for Heatherwood Farms Dairy for 15 years and Long Development for 22 years, retiring as Vice President. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Lansing and volunteered in various organizations. Doug was an avid Detroit Tiger and MSU Spartan fan and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia “Sunny” Rowe; 7 brothers and one sister. Surviving are 5 daughters, Candace Acker, Marilyn (Kurt) Titus, Cheryl (Terry) Huff, Donna (Dean) Wolverton and Julia (Jay) Kussmaul; 8 grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Carla, Douglas, Ashley, Lauren, Meredith and Andy; one great granddaughter, Emma; nieces, nephews and dear friend, Stanley W. Smith. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 3827 Delta River Dr., Lansing with the Rev. Melanie Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E.
