Duane E. Stearns

Pompano Beach, FL Formerly of Lansing, MI

Born November 26, 1927 in Lansing, MI, the son of the late Edwin and Marie (Groves) Stearns, passed away June 23, 2012 at the age of 84. Duane served his country during WWII as a U.S. Merchant Marine. He retired from General Motors in 1986 after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald; one brother; and two sisters. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Alma; son, Jeffrey; five grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Laura Stearns; brother-in-law, Donald Johnson; sister-in-law, Janet Robinson; family friend, Rosanne; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
