Elaine passed away on July 8, 2017. She was born June 21, 1941 in Lansing, MI to Gregory J. and Iva L. (Ernst) Schafer. Elaine worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Lawrence Hospital for over 30 years. During this time, she earned her Bachelor's Degree from Spring Arbor College and raised her children. Elaine loved gardening, was a very talented artist and crafter, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa Conklin and Michelle (Heidi Williams) Bryant; son, David (Cindy) Bryant; 6 grandchildren, Anna, Sophia, and Emma Dickerson, and Shannon, Alison, and Colin Bryant; great-granddaughter, Josie Tijerina; and 2 brothers, Bruce (Julie) Schafer and Mark Schafer.
Celebration of Life service is 2-4 PM July 29, 2017 at Edgewood United Church, 469 N. Hagadorn Rd., East Lansing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Capital Area Humane Society. The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
