Eric Lee Robinson, 63, of DeWitt, MI, after a long and determined fight to overcome his health challenges, began his new life on November 8, 2011 with a new pain-free body, worry-free mind, and unafraid of the next phase of his existence in Heaven. Eric was born in Lansing to Floyd and Mildred (Bahmer) Robinson on February 22, 1948. He graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1966. He received an Associates Degree from Lansing Community College. He was employed with Sparrow Health System for 35 years, beginning as a Respiratory Therapist, then Assistant Department Head of Cardio-Pulmonary Department. He taught classes at LCC. He was one of the 4 original employees to begin Sparrow Regional Medical Supply, as the Registered Respiratory Therapist. He gave his life to helping to educate and save lives. He is survived by wife of 43 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Robinson; son, Aaron (Stacy) Robinson of Byron Center; daughter Caryn (Marvin) Freed of Owosso; six wonderful grandchildren: Mason Freed, Jenna Robinson, Madilyn (Maddy) Freed, Emma Freed, Tara Robinson and Elizabeth (Ellie) Freed; sister, Diana (Robert) Sherburn; mother-in-law, Virginia Jessop; sisters and brother-in-law, Debby and Max Pierce, Becky Budden; nieces Jamie (Dennis) Schrenk, Elizabeth Sherburn, Sacha Mallory; nephew, Brennan Graves; special cousin, Mike Stewart, and cousins, Sue Woodford and Ronnie Mull. Through the course of his life he made hundreds of friends and touched the lives of many patients. He cared very deeply for his children, grandchildren, and dogs (Amos, Andy, Roy and his current constant companion, Teddy). He will be missed by all of us. He was always at work on his computer, creating a lifetime of memories, which we will treasure forever. Our deepest thanks to the care given to Eric by so many doctors, nurses, specialists and staff of Sparrow Hospital and LTECH – St. Lawrence Campus Specialty Hospital.
Eric’s spirit lives on! Friends and family are invited to join us to celebrate Eric’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011 for a brief service and luncheon, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 218 W. Ottawa Street, Lansing, MI. Free parking in the ramp behind church, on Seymour Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric’s name to The Lansing City Rescue Mission. Donations may also be made directly to Eric’s wife, Cindy, towards the College Education Fund, which he started for his six grandchildren.
