

of Perry, MichiganAge 82, went home unexpectedly to her Lord on Thursday, July 17, 2008. Born March 21, 1926 in Eagle Township, Michigan she was the daughter of Dewey Sr., and Ethel (Lawson) Howard. Ethelyn retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. She started in assembly and became an Interpreter for the Deaf at G.M. She was very active in the deaf community and shared her gift of teaching sign language to anyone who was interested in learning. She was a member of Capitol City Baptist Church. Ethelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Hoxie (1979); parents, Dewey Sr., and Ethel; sister, Mary Ames; brothers-in-law, Floyd Figg and Gerald Lockwood; life long friends, the Pell family. Surviving is her son, Craig S. (Jackie) Hoxie of Perry; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Hoxie, Heather (Jacob) McKay; step-grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Robinson, Erin (Jason) Maag; great-grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Gabriel, Joy, Aubrey; brother, Dewey (Rose) Howard, Jr.; sisters, Marian Figg, Betty Lockwood; many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday, July 21, 2008 and 10-11AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 with Funeral Services 11:00AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. Pastor Alton L. Cooper of Capitol City Baptist Church, officiating. Interment is Deepdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Capitol City Baptist Church in memory of Ethelyn.
