Eugene G. VanLancker, 56, of Haslett, Michigan passed away February 23, 2014. He was born July 9, 1957 in Lansing, Michigan to George and Gilberte (Bovyn) VanLancker. A General Motors employee for 38 years, Eugene was a skilled trades journeyman. He was an active member of the Harley Davidson “Harley Owners Group,” as well as CARDS, which cultivated his interest in remote control plane, helicopter, car, and boat racing. Eugene also participated in vintage motocross racing. One of his greatest pleasures was the yearly snowmobile trip he made with his brother and friends. Eugene loved going to in his cottage in Harrison, Michigan, and made many friends during his time there. He will be remembered and treasured as a kind, gentle, and loving man.

Eugene was preceded in death by his brother, Gary VanLancker. Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents; daughter, Taryn VanLancker; son, Branden VanLancker; fiancé, Vickie Churchill, and her children, Neele Churchill and Michael Churchill; brother, Jerry (Sandy) VanLancker; and nieces and nephews: Kaysie (Justin) Furlong, Ashley VanLancker, Nicole VanLancker, and Denise VanLancker.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar Street, Lansing, MI 48910. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or American Heart Association, Memorials and Tributes Lockbox, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
