Born on April 28, 1965, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Jack Effner and Georgia Kesseler, Fawn spent her early years in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Phoenix, Arizona, and Houston, Texas, before returning to grow up in Mid-Michigan, the place she called home for much of her life. She was the beloved sister of Cindy Savage, Pam Milben, Tawnie Brown, Jimmy Effner, and Johnny Effner.
Fawn’s greatest joy was her family. She first shared life with the late Kevin Coffey, with whom she had two sons, Kyle Coffey (deceased) and Kody Coffey. Later, she married Paul Hallam, and together they built a life full of love and hard work, raising two more sons, Arlo and Zach Hallam. Fawn cherished her role as a mother and found happiness working side by side with her children in the many ventures she created.
A gifted artist, Fawn poured her creativity into every part of her life. She helped Paul establish and co-own H&H Construction through her graphic design work, ran a small mowing business with her sons, and later founded Shades of Me, where she expressed her talents in painting, artwork, and handcrafted designs. Her love for nature was equally strong—she was a passionate gardener, a horticulturist, and a farmer at Giving Tree Farms.
Fawn’s adventurous spirit thrived in the outdoors. She loved fishing, hunting, and gathering, and felt most at peace surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. She will be remembered for her warmth, her boundless creativity, and her strength.
Fawn’s memory lives on in her sons Kody, Arlo, and Zach, in her husband Paul, in her mother Georgia, in her siblings, and in the many lives she touched with her art, her kindness, and her love of life. She is preceded in death by her father Jack, her first husband Kevin, and her son Kyle.
Though her passing leaves a great emptiness, Fawn’s love and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Fawn was a loving mother and true companion dedicated to her friends, family, and beloved fur babies. She kept a wild heart, free spirit, and a unwavering light that no shadow could shroud even in the darkest times.
She always carried stories at her hip with pride, ready to celebrate so many accomplishments she made in this world. Let us gather now to celebrate those accomplishments for her as she enters into the next.
Let’s honor her with love, music, and joyful remembrance. Colorful and free-spirited attire encouraged.
