

Floyd P. Ziolkowski Lansing Floyd P. Ziolkowski, born on November 28, 1925, the youngest of 10 children passed away peacefully on September 21, 2009 at the age of 83. Floyd retired in 1981 after 32 years from the Lansing Fire Department as a Captain. He was a WW II paratrooper and an active war historian. His passion for sports was evident, he ran multiple marathons, enjoyed playing golf, bowling, hunting, fishing and was an active card enthusiast. He was a life member of Morley Oates V.F.W. Post #701. He was a graduate of Resurrection High School, where he attended the parish for many years. He was most recently affiliated with Holy Cross/St. Mary Cathedral. He is survived by his beloved, dedicated wife of 57 years, Doris Jean; his children Lori & James Goss of Dexter, Daniel & Geri Ziolkowski of Holt, and David & Debbie Ziolkowski of Brighton; 5 grandchildren, Katie, Tiffany, Jason, Kelly, and Maggie. ? Your loving family will miss you. We will remember your dedication to us along with all of the good times and love you more than words can say?. Visitation is from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Thursday with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil Service in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 25, at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour, Lansing with Fr. Jeffrey Njus presiding. An Honor Guard will be provided by the Lansing Fire Department. Rite of committal will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post #701. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Stoneleigh Residence of the Hospice of Lansing or St. Mary Cathedral in memory of Floyd Ziolkowski.
