

of Lansing, MichiganAge 78, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to be with our Lord on January 27, 2009 surrounded by his family. Born August 26, 1930 in Lansing, MI. Jerry retired in 1992 as a toolmaker at General Motors after 36 years of service. He was a 1949 graduate of J.W. Sexton High School. He was a 50 year member of St. Gerard Church, and a 55 year member of the Knights of Columbus. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved sports and was an M.S.U. Fan ?Go Green!?. He was a ?Jerry of all trades? fixing most anything like new for family and friends, skills which he used to build his own home and cottage. His family was his pride and joy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald G. & Catherine Granger; sister, Gloria Granger; son-in-law, Dr. William Hanratty. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Virginia E. (Spagnuolo) Granger; his children, Sharon Edgerly-Hanratty, Linda Granger, Gerald G. Granger, Jr., and Lori (Jon) Arendsen; 4 grandchildren, Steven (Cathleen) Edgerly, Jonathan (LeeAnn) Edgerly, Katrina Granger, and Sasha Granger; great-granddaughter, Gianna Edgerly; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Thursday with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil Service in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 30, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday at church. Rite of committal St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the St. Vincent House at St. Gerard Church.
