Jim died as he lived his life, respecting God, and trusting when it was time to let God call the shots. He enjoyed his stay on earth and he went back to motorcycle riding for about 10 years until age 76. (With sarcasm), nothing was more refreshing than a mixture of mint fields, with the undertones of manure, great for cleaning out the sinuses.
Jim and Kathy traveled around the United States, mainly to areas with military museums and shows. Together they saw a lot of good areas, despite his navigator (pre GPS). The U-turn on the bridge into NYC was a classic, and that was on the honeymoon trip. One of their favorite spots was the oceanside cliffs at Acadia National Park, Maine waiting for the very large wave breaking in and almost over them. They always traveled well with meals and a warm/cool room; the Army took the charm out of camping. His hobby was building model kits of planes and tanks of WWII, and painting miniature military figures of ancient history.
Jim served in the 110th Artillery of the Michigan National Guard. He retired after 25 years as a Court Officer at 55th District Court in Mason, Michigan. There were very few dull moments and many great colleagues he was privileged to know and to spend his work life with.
Jim survived his parents James Sr and Winifred MacDonald. He leaves behind a number of cousins, and Kathy, his wife of 46 years.
