James Edmund McAllister, age 64, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Wednesday November 7, 2018. Jim was born March 15, 1954 in Saginaw, MI to William and Rita (Vallier) McAllister. He was a 1972 graduate of Douglas MacArthur School.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons Blair and Kyle McAllister; granddaughter Anabel Wahl; mother Rita (Vallier) McAllister; brother, William McAllister Jr.; sisters, Kathryn (McAllister) Scharich, Karen McAllister, Charlene (McAllister) Norris, Kay (McAllister) Cader, and Joann McAllister.
Jimmy Mac (as he was known to friends) enjoyed an incredible 25+ year career in the stage and entertainment business as a journeyman/stagehand with International Alliance of Theatrical and State Employees (IATSE) Local 274 East Lansing. He quickly became a fixture at most of the entertainment venues across the state where he specialized in stage carpentry, rigging and was an advance Flyman. He also worked in motion pictures, receiving credits in both Die Hard 2 and Road to Perdition.
In his off time, Jimmy was an avid golfer. You could also usually find him on most summer afternoons outside his apartment, reading on of his favorite Stephen King books and grilling on his beloved Lil Smokey.
He will be loved and cherished by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
