

the age of 93. She was born November 27, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. She graduated from
Sacred Heart Academy, and earned her undergraduate degree in English and Special
Education from Central Michigan Univ. in 1945. She began her career as a librarian at the
Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint, and later became Head Librarian at the Michigan School
for the Blind in Lansing, where she served for more than thirty years. She earned her Master of
Library Science degree at the University of Michigan.
She was a long time parishioner of St. Gerard Church and served in several volunteer
capacities during her retirement. She was an original member of the first ladies' circle, "Queen
of Peace" at the parish and enjoyed praying the rosary and playing bridge with this group of
friends.
She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed needle arts, cooking and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis H. Lynch and Mary Luella (Mae) Laubenthal
Lynch, her sister Wilhelmina "Wilma" Creedon, and several close friends from church and MSB.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne Niebyl (Peter) and one grandson, Nicholas Niebyl of
Oakton, VA, brother-in-law John F. Creedon, nephews John Creedon (Deborah), Carl Creedon
(Christina), and Roger Creedon, all of California, and special friends Joan Brunger, R. John
Bullock and William and Janet Woolsey.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 21 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm, with Rosary at 7 pm at Tiffany
Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw St., Lansing. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30
am, Monday, January 22 at St. Gerard Church, 4433 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Monday at church. Interment will
follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
