J.L was a caring father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He was passionate about fishing, cooking, cars, and family. He will be missed and remembered by many.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen Rutledge, his parents, Willie & Mamie-Mae Rutledge, brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children; J.L Rutledge, Jr., Melissa Rutledge, Eric Rutledge, Jerreka Rutledge, Roger Brock, Lonny Brock, Shaun Williams, Marlon Williams, Fashunda Braswell, and Taaranda Brewster. He also leaves behind 3 siblings, 23 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI with a visitation one hour prior to service. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
