John Fruvog Prouty

Okemos, MI

Born August 15, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA to Chilton Eaton Prouty and Norma Fruvog Prouty, passed away January 21, 2011 at the age of 56. John graduated from Okemos High School in 1972. He attended Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, MI) for two years as an Art Major student. He was stricken with a mental illness in 1975 and lived independently for many years in Okemos. He recently moved to Kalamazoo to be near family after his mother passed away. John was recently diagnosed with cancer. Surviving is his brother, William “Bil” (Cynthia) Prouty, nieces Erin Prouty Hummel, Joy (Kelvin) Brown, Sandra (Jim) Neece; several cousins in California, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Tennessee. John was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, 4515 Dobie Road, Okemos, MI.
