

Jose Quiroga Lansing Age 79, our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away November 6, 2011. Born January 16, 1932 in Lockhart, Texas. Jose was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired in 1988 from Oldsmobile/GM after 22 years of service, and was a member of U.A.W. Local 652. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and nature. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Rita Quiroga; 5 children Rosy (Mark) Ovenhouse, Gloria (Bill, III) Smith, Joe (Shelley) Quiroga, Evelyn (Patrick) Quiroga ? Klein, and Lisa Ann Quiroga; 8 grandchildren, Matthew (Nichole) Ovenhouse, Christopher Ovenhouse, Bill (Jamie) Smith IV , Amanda Smith, Olivia Quiroga, Norbert Klein, Jose Klein, and Patrick Klein, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Maria, Carmen, and Evelia and 1 brother, Emilio; and many other family members and friends. Jose was preceded in death by his son, Mario; his parents, Espiridion and Magdalena, and brother, Rogelio. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with services 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 10th in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
