Jake passed almost 10 years ago and I still think of him everyday. He was one of the kindest people I've ever known. I'll always miss him! 
Much love to his family! Although I don't know you I can only imagine the pain and grief you still feel. 

Jake Parks played defense on my first ever hockey team, the Lansing Capitals. He was the first one, and only one for awhile, to make me feel welcome and like I belonged on the team. These actions took both courage and empathy on his part. He did not care about skill-level and played for fun and the love of the game. He was a kind and gentle soul. I don't think I would have stuck out that first season without his unconditional support and encouragement. Although we never saw each other after 8th grade, I will always remember Jake as a positive force in my life and as one of the biggest reasons I still play and love hockey.

Jake will be greatly missed by his Aunt Alicia, his grandmother Katie and William Joseph Bailey.  Jake was Williams big brother and best friend. There are no words to express our loss but we will keep his memory alive.
