Judith Jill Crusen, 86, of East Lansing, MI, was called home to the Lord on September 17, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1938, to Mary Louise Marshall and Elmer VanAntwerp of Sunfield. Her childhood was spent in Grand Ledge until her family moved to Lansing where she graduated from Sexton High School in 1957.
Judith is remembered as a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Her life was marked by her unwavering support and love of her family. Judith had a particular fondness for trains. She traveled by train to California several times to visit her Grandsons and Great-Grandsons. Along with her love of trains, she enjoyed sailing. One of her favorite trips was sailing the Hudson River to New York City. However, her favorite destination was Half Moon Lake, spending time with her family. Judith also enjoyed playing the piano and was a trained classical pianist.
After retiring from Jackson National Life, Judith went on to work at Accident Fund and then Cooley Law Library, which she enjoyed very much.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Geoff (Vicki) Crusen, Jennifer Crusen and Joy Crusen; her Grandchildren, Kasey (Kim) Crusen, Heather Bergey, Jeremy (Marylyn) Crusen, Corey Crusen, Aubrey Crusen, and Tara (Nic) Williams; and her Great Grandsons, Brody, Cameron, Gabriel, Michael, Kaiden, Carson, Gavin and Sawyer. Judith was preceded in death by her Father, Elmer VanAntwerp; her Mother, Mary Louise Toaz; her Step-Father, Donald Toaz; her Son, Jonathan Crusen; and her Great-Grandson Adrien Price, all of whom she loved dearly. Judith is also survived by her brother, Bill Toaz, sister, Kim Bilger and many close friends that she held dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Judith’s life will be announced at a later date.
