Vern worked 32 years for the United States Post Office before retiring. He wanted to stay busy after his retirement and would work another 10 years for Walgreens as a cashier. He was a volunteer at his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Vern always had a love for trains and enjoyed another pastime, napping.
