

Age 80, of Ludington and formally of Charlotte, MI, passed away suddenly February 19th while vacationing at his winter home in Naples, Florida. He was born June 7, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio. He married Helen Margaret Phillips on March 24, 1951. They were to have celebrated their 60th Anniversary next month. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Joseph Kerekes, brother Zolton and sisters Helen and Nancy. He is survived by his wife Helen, son Jeff (Karen) Kerekes, daughter Tamela Nakfoor (Thomas), grandchildren Lauren, Lindsay and Leah Nakfoor, Kristi and Jason Kerekes and his brother Paul Kerekes. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force as Military Police and earning Expert Marksmanship awards. After being honorably discharged, he worked for Aluminum Extrusions, a division of Hoover Universal/ Johnson Controls in Charlotte, Michigan for 27 years. In 1977 he purchased Millers Lakeside Motel which is now known as the Lakeside Inn of Ludington. One of his favorite events was the 4th of July as the Scottsville Clown Band would conclude the parade by performing on the front lawn of the motel for the crowd. Lewis was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain and cook for his family and friends, loved gardening, and was an avid hunter with a passion for the outdoors and conservancy of wildlife. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with visitation one-hour prior, Fr. John Klein officiating.
