Lois Joan Rood

Lois was the co-owner and co-founder of Art Craft Display Incorporated and A.C. Development Company, LLC.

Lois' biggest passion was her family. She loved being involved with anything that had to do with her family. Lois loved listening and giving advice to those who needed it. She was an amazing artist and seamstress. She was such an incredible seamstress that she made her daughters' wedding dresses. Something that touched her heart beyond belief to do. Lois was a collector of everything. She had thousands of cookbooks. She kept busy with all of her hobbies, such as reading, gardening, and herb gardening. Lois loved traveling to Hawaii and Vegas to the warmer climates. She was an animal lover at heart. Those who knew Lois most, knew she loved to shop, as she was a shop-a-holic, and anything she bought, she would buy multiples of it.

Lois was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Rood; loving mother of Mark (Karla) Rood, David (Cheryl) Rood, Jeanette (Scott) Kapusto, Wayne (Lorraine) Rood and the late Suzan Snyder and Steven Rood; cherished grandmother of Scott Snyder, Sarah Snyder and Nicholas Rood; dear sister of the late Carol Wilson and Phyllis Worcester; and fond aunt to many. The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped Lois in her final days: Dr. Dennis Perry, P.A. Katherine Young, Dr. Jihad Mustapha, Dr. Fadi Saab, Dr. Ibrahim Shah, the medical staff at McLaren: Tracy, Ben, Courtney and Lisa, and the kind & caring staff at Burcham Hills Assisted Living Center.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13 from 4pm to 7pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home 900 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 14 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior. Inurnment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
