Marguerite A. Southwell

Lansing, Michigan

Age 92; passed away October 30, 2010. Margie was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and a lifelong resident of Lansing. She was employed as a Secretary at Hacker Real Estate, Michigan Municipal League and later worked for 12 years in the Trust and Mortgage Departments of Michigan National Bank. Margie was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for many years and a Charter Member of United Methodist Women. She was also active in PTA and Cub Scouts for several years. She enjoyed writing poetry for family and friends for special occasions and usually a special poem at Christmastime. Margie was preceded in death by her husband Ray; son, Douglas Southwell; parents, LeRoy and Maude Mingus; sister, Kathaleen (Gillett) Southwell; and grandsons, Tommy and Bruce. She is survived by sons, William and John Southwell; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Southwell; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 5, at Noon. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing with Pastor Charles Grauer officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Chapel, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Christ United Methodist Church, 517 W.
