She was born to the parents of Frederick and Amelia Stachel in Lansing Michigan on December 15, 1917 during a snow storm. She attended the Lansing public schools and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1935. During Marian's working life she was a telephone operator for Michigan Bell Company. She met the love of her life Frank Dominik at an ice skating ring.
Frank and Marian wed on May 4, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing MI. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, camping and dancing. Marian was a devoted Christian and instilled her faith to her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Due to health concerns she moved to Portage to live with her daughter Carolyn.
Marian was proceeded in death by her parents Frederick and Amelia Stachel, her brother Donald Stachel, husband Frank Dominik Jr., and son-in-law, Leonard Jay Osterhouse.
Marian is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Osterhouse, four grandchildren, Todd Osterhouse, Kimberly (Brad) Wynalda, Dawn (Stephen) Marks, Debra (Michael) Erickson, and eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Theo, Thomas, Lidia, Isaac and Adrianna Wynalda, Ashton and Dane Marks, great-great granddaughter Alina Wynalda. Also left to cherish Marian in memory is a close family friend Jane Lockwood.
Private services for the family will be held at Gorsline Runciman Chapel in Lansing, with Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those desiring can make contributions in Marian's Memory to Third Christian Reformed Church Sparrow's Nest Charity, 2400 Winchell Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
