Marilyn Ruth Kostrzewski

Marilyn Ruth Kostrzewski, 91, of Lansing, Michigan passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on August 11, 2022. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Stanley, who she married on April 11, 1953. She is survived by her four daughters; Karen Kostrzewski, Lynn (Steven) Doerr, Marcia Kostrzewski and Jackie (Daniel) Fedewa. She was blessed with nine loving grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church since May 1, 1944. She was a member of the women’s circle, helping with many church activities. One of her favorite ways of serving was being the greeter before Sunday service, welcoming church members as they came in.

Marilyn lived a long and blessed life. She worked at Meijer for 18 ½ years and JC Penney prior to that. She loved family celebrations and for her 90th birthday party last year, we enjoyed a wonderful day together celebrating her milestone. Mom left her fingerprints on all of our hearts.

A visitation for Marilyn will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI 48912. A visitation is scheduled Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI 48910. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. A lunch reception will occur after the burial service at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Special thanks to our caregivers/friends, Tina and Tiffaney, who became family members to all of us. Their compassion and loving care cannot be measured. Promedica Hospice provided the most wonderful and compassionate guidance for Mom, helping us keep her comfortable in her home.
