

Mary Dolores Moss was born May 20, 1928 in Kewanee, Illinois to Frederick and Mary (Derikx) Beck. She graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1946, then worked in the office at the Illinois Power Company. She married Wilfred Moss, Jr., a Wethersfield graduate in 1949 and moved to Urbana, Illinois. In 1953, they moved to Kankakee, Illinois, where she worked for a short time at Romy Hammes Homes. When her children reached middle school age, she worked 18 years as a bookkeeper and manager at the Kankakee Racquet Club, retiring in 1988. After Wilfred's passing in 1996, she later married Wellesley Goodwin, also a Wethersfield High School graduate, in 2004. They resided in Kankakee until moving to East Lansing in 2010. Dolores and Wes enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home. Dolores was an avid tennis player, bridge player, writer, book lover, and a great pie baker and cook. Surviving her are children, Carol Moss of Lancaster, CA, Todd (Lynn) Moss of Atlanta, GA, and Sue Hanley of Parkland, FL; grandchildren, Stephen (Carrol) Ostendorf of South Carolina, Sarah (Ray) Michaels of Lansing, MI, Susan (Ryan) Patino of Lansing, MI, Rachael Hanley of Parkland, FL, and Katie Hanley of Parkland, FL; and great- grandchildren Anne and Clark Ostendorf, and Ray Joseph Michaels.
