Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home peacefully to her Lord on August 21, 2013. Born July 21, 1924 in El Paso, Texas. Mary Ellen was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She was an active volunteer at Cottage Hospital and Sparrow Health System. She was a member of the DeLaSalle High School Ladies Auxiliary in Warren, MI.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Emil A. Ruch, Jr.; her children Peg (Mike) Sloan, James (Mary) Ruch, Pat (David) DeRush, Michael Ruch, David Ruch, Joseph (Tracey) Ruch, Mary Kay (Tom) Shields, and Daniel (Suzann) Ruch; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her daughter Caroline M. Ruch in 1999, and grandson, Steven Fishbeck.

Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Monday with a 7:30 P.M. Vigil Rosary Service in Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 27, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at church.
