Maurice's daughters were the absolute joy of his life! He was a proud "Girl Dad" who was very involved in their lives, actively attending events and activities that they participated in. He would cheer them on at their competitions, and attend Daddy/Daughter-dances. He loved and adored them so much!
To know Maurice was to love him! He was fondly known as Reese, and was so much fun to be around; his smile could light up a room.
Maurice attended Lansing schools graduating from J.W. Sexton High School, class of 1986. He was a football & track star receiving numerous awards and Homecoming King. His football skills earned him a football scholarship to Central Michigan University. In 2016 he was inducted into the J.W. Sexton Sports Hall of Fame.
Maurice played youth football for the well known Taylor's Steelers, where he met his soon to be stepfather, James Taylor and Uncle Tom Taylor. These experiences prepared him for high school sports and helped him make lifelong friends.
Maurice was an Account Executive at Comcast at the time of his death.
Maurice leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Kayla (Darius) Wilson, Stasha Brandon and Malani Brandon; mother, Kay Taylor; devoted sister, Darla (Mitchell) Brandon-Roland; proud brother, Marcus Taylor.He also leaves three nieces, Nadia, Destiny, and Zoe; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and best friend Quentin (Q) Blocker.
He was preceded in death by father, Winston Brandon; stepfather, James Taylor; grandparents, Alonzo and Elizabeth Davis, Alberta Cooper and Clyde and Virginia Morris.
Maurice will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
