Melody Ann Robbins age 68 of Sturgis, MI passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in her home, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Clifton Junior Sweezy (deceased) and Arlene Joy Mullen (deceased), she was born May 18, 1951 at Sturgis Memorial Hospital, Sturgis, MI. She was employed with the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture for 18 years as well as Archie’s Ambulance Service for 15 years, working as an EMT.
Family meant everything to Melody and she was blessed with 6 children: Mary L. Berning, Harold A. Bishop, Cheyene M. Brown, Laramie L. Bishop, Glady A. Daly and Clifton A. Bishop (deceased 1985); 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Melody opened her heart and home to all who needed a safe and loving space, leaving countless others whom she guided and mentored throughout her life.
A woman of compassionate perseverance, she would work 3 p.m. – 2 a.m. and then both be available to her family as well as on call for the Ambulance Service until returning to her State job again the next day. She loved being outdoors with family and friends, camping, fishing and riding motorcycles. She was an adventurous and fearless skydiver; she took her first jump at age 12 and went on to sky dive more than 500 times. She was passionate about playing cards and would cheat if it meant she would win. Melody also loved animals and would bring home strays to take care of them, always teaching her family what love and kindness were. Melody Ann Robbins was a caretaker of all and a lover of life, she nurtured, taught, engaged, laughed and inspired so many to embrace themselves, to live life and to give love every chance they got. Her greatest loves were her children, family and friends, spending time with them and making them laugh.
Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please check for updates on Facebook & here for these details.
Please keep Melody's family in your prayers during this difficult time.
