

Michael William Flynn, age 82, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. He was born September 23, 1942 in Lansing, the son of Harold Flynn and Jenny Metz. Mike was an Urban Eastside Boy and graduated from Eastern High School. He worked for 42 years as a bricklayer and was a member of the local BAC of Lansing. He was an amazingly talented bricklayer, also did stone work, and stamped concrete. He was able to create custom designs for fireplaces for many of his friends. He was very devoted and loved all of his friends deeply. He was a real "character" and was an absolutely hysterical story teller, had an amazing personality and was a real jokester. Mike had a place on the river in Evart, MI, where he loved spending his summers fishing with his beloved friends.He had an impeccable bond with his sister, Pat. His brother, Jim, was a founding member of CABS and Mike enjoyed hanging out with him at many blues events. His children were the light of his life, his everything, his world. That love was more than reciprocated by them.
Surviving are his children, John Seiler, Jamie Flynn-Donth, Jimmy Flynn, Jena Flynn-Poirer, and Christopher Flynn; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; partner, Roberta; sister, Pat Cutler; one niece, Christine; and his two favorite cats, Suzie and Gummy. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving brother, Jim; niece, Michelle and several of his life-long Eastsider friends.
Mike had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
