

Michelle R. Fedewa Lansing Michelle was born April 10, 1959 in Flint, MI, and passed away October 15, 2009. In her 25-year career in health care, Michelle served as a phlebotomist, staff nurse, obstetrical nurse, childbirth instructor, and nurse manager for Women?s Medical Services at St. Lawrence Hospital; prenatal nurse at Healthdyne Prenatal Services; member of the board of directors and volunteer nurse at the Jean Granger Prenatal Care Clinic; clinical faculty in the MSU Department of Nursing; clinical instructor and administrator in the MSU College of Human Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology; and most recently, nurse practitioner at Mid-Michigan Physicians where she conducted genetic risk assessments and coordinated a breast care program in the Hematology/Oncology Division. Michelle also was a member of several professional organizations. She earned an associate degree in nursing at Lansing Community College, a bachelor?s degree in nursing at University of Detroit Mercy, and a master?s degree in nursing at Michigan State University. Michelle will be remembered for her many career accomplishments and for her devotion to family, deep friendships, caring and compassionate nature, sense of humor, boundless energy, and passion for reading, cooking, gardening, and dog sledding. Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Edward; daughter, Kathleen; son, Joseph; mother, Doris (Robert) Johnston of Santa Fe, New Mexico; father, James (Margaret) Blewett of Swartz Creek; siblings, Melissa Moulliet, Michael Blewett, and Kelly Seigrist; and 11 nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Monday with a 7:00 P.M. Vigil service in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 20, St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her children?s college fund or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Education Fund in memory of Michelle.
