struggle with dementia and now rests in the Lord.
Patricia was born on Feb. 19,1929 to Victor (Pat) and Anna (Corda) Scavarda in Lansing
Ml. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Martin
Koenigsknecht, brother, Joe Scavarda and many in-laws. Surviving are children, John
(Kathleen) Kingslight, Ann Koenigsknecht, Mary Koenigsknecht (Tom Heideman), Carol
Koenigsknecht (Bill Stock), grandchildren, Micaela Kingslight, Martin McLean, Jake
Johnson, great-granddaughter, Rory Kingslight, sister, Marge (Glenn) Lounsbury, sister-in-
law, Sally (Ken) Klein, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, and godchildren.
Pat was devoted to her faith, family and community. A lifelong member of the Church
of the Resurrection, she graduated from Resurrection HS, sang in the choir for 62 years, was a
cantor, and served with the Altar Society, Parish Council and St. Vincent de Paul. She
was active with PTA, Girl Scouts and WKAR Radio Talking Book. Pat was a stellar
secretary and worked for My Gal Friday, the U.S. Regional Poultry Lab, Gabriels High
School (Lansing Catholic) and as the Lansing Postmaster's secretary, retiring in 1988.
Pat LOVED to sing, both as a soloist and with various choral groups and especially
enjoyed "touring" with Social Security Scandals. She made everyone SMILE with her
singing right up to the end and is probably harmonizing with the angels now. Smart,
capable and caring, Pat was a go-to gal for so many people, especially her family, throughout her life. She was loved and respected by all and will live on in our hearts.
Pat's family extends heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregivers: Carol & Bill, Mary &
Tom, Pat Judson, Bridget Bowen, Grace Hospice and Home Sweet Home. A Memorial
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11 AM with visitation one hour
before at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing Ml. Also,
visitation Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6-8PM with a rosary at 7PM at Gorsline Runciman
Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing Ml.
ln lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Pat to Resurrection St. Vincent
de Paul, WKAR Radio Talking Book or for Memorial Masses.
