Phyllis Jean McNeil was born on July 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Glenn and Reba (Cook) Porterfield, and passed away on November 7, 2014 at the age of 90. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. She also loved going to her cottage “Up North” and, most of all, visiting with her family. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Elwin McNeil; brother, Bruce Porterfield; son-in-law, Harold Remington; and granddaughter, Deanna McNeil. Surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters, Linda Remington of Portland, MI, Wanda (Richard) Draper of Stanton, MI and Carol St. Pierre of Lansing; son, Clayton (Susie) McNeil of Orleans, MI; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Glenn Porterfield; and sister-in-law, Edith Porterfield. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Della Summers and five beloved grand-dogs. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 3:00~6:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
