passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. He was born March 28, 1929 in Lansing and was the son of Dorr and Nettie Granger. Dick graduated from Everett High School in 1947. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees and was stationed on Adak in the Aleutian Islands as well as Subic Bay in the Philippians. His high priority was spending summers with his family at their cottage on Gun Lake, where he loved to go sailing and was very adventuresome. Dick collected antique clocks and tools, and was the proud owner of a 1927 Model T Ford. Numerous trophy mounts line the wall of his den from his big game hunting days from when he and his brother Don hunted in Alaska, British Columbia, Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. Dick was especially proud of harvesting two of the four trophy rams of North America. Dick was a devoted member of Judson Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Capital Lodge of S.O. #66 F&AM. He became Worshipful Master in 1966 and had the pleasure of initiating his brother, Kenneth, into the Order as their father proudly observed. Dick was a partner with the Granger Brothers Construction Company, building many commercial buildings, schools and churches. Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother Kenneth Granger. Surviving is his wife of 60 years Geraldine (Jean) Granger, whom he married on October 30, 1948. Also surviving are his children Renee (Chandos) Granger-McCoy, Michael D. (Karie) Granger, Patrick N. Granger; grandchildren Charles and Christian McCoy, Colin Roisum; Siblings Donald (Beverly) Granger and Dorene (Patrick) Spellman.
