Richard honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from General Motors after 42 years. Richard’s faith was always very important to him, as he was a dedicated church member for many years, even serving as Deacon. Most recently he was a member of Cedar Street Church. He loved anything to do with airplanes and really enjoyed old & new cars. Richard loved his family dearly and will always be remembered as a generous, kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a gifted letter writer and his family will always cherish the handwritten letters he gave them.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Todd; children, David (Patty) Comstock and Wendy (Tim) Curtis; grandchildren, Craig (LeeAnna) Comstock, Kevin (Bethany) Comstock, Brent (Lydia) Comstock, Hannah Curtis and Caleb Curtis; great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Jared, Kalyssa, Aurora, Remington, Andrew, Amaya and Asher; sisters, Carolyn Pentecost and Marolyn (Howard) Lyon; many nieces & nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Warren (Jean) Todd.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing with Pastor Matt Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM at the Funeral Home prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid, MI.
