

Robert Ambrose Mains Lansing, Michigan Robert A. Mains, age 85 of Lansing, passed away May 4, 2013 under the loving care of his family and Eaton Community Palliative Care and Hospice. He was born November 21, 1927 in Mt Carmel, Illinois the son of Homer and Blanche Marie (Douglas) Mains and they precede him in death along with his first wife, Audrey Marcene (Horner), twin brother, Richard, brother, Gilbert, sisters, Ruth and Bernice. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen (Stinson) Mains, daughters: Jeanne Marie (Stan) Owens, Ellen Joy (Ken) Robbins; sons: Rueben (Susan) Mains, Douglas (Judi) Mains, Dwight (Susan) Mains and Nathan (Jeanne) Mains; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, sister, Joan Levine and sister-in-law, Delores Mains. Robert not only served the people of Grenada and Barbados in his dedication to truth and love for God?s people, but upon return from the West Indies after 20 years started the Revival at Rives Baptist Church, where he served as Associate Pastor for 8 years. The Revival with the Sultera Twins resulted in Revival through Canada and now World Wide (see Erwin Lutzer?s book ?Flames of Freedom?). Robert also planted the Frankenmuth Bible Church without debt.Robert?s energy and effort along with these and so many others was indeed blessed. His last conversation with Mary was ?Keep informing people often of 2nd Chronicles 7:14 and That he did!? As you see Robert left me only such a legacy to pass on what commitment meant to him. May God Bless America. His son Rueben is still in Grenada leading the Berean Bible School. His family will celebrate his life on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Dr., Lansing, MI with Pastor Doug Phillips officiating. The family will receive visitors at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service at church.
