Dr. Stephen M. Green

Born June 19, 1952 and went home to be with The Lord on April 11, 2013. He was the son of Dr. D.L. and Winifred Green. He was preceded in death by his mother, Winifred (Knowlton) Green; sister, Mary Gray; and wife Nancy (Wilbanks) Green. Surviving to cherish his memory are his father, Rev. Donald L. (Faye) Green; wife, Brenda (Brady) Green; four brothers, Timothy, John, Daniel and James Green; six children, Stacie Burcham, Stephen II, Thomas, Sarah, Paul and Josiah Green; 9 grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends also survive. Dr. Stephen Green was born on June 19, 1952 in West Branch, MI. The second son of Pastor Donald Green, Stephen grew up in a pastor’s home and came to know Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He soon became involved in church ministry and discovered a love for sacred music that continued throughout his life. He served with his father as Assistant Pastor and Minister of Music at the Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Lansing for over forty years. Steve was a man of many talents who engaged in many activities over the course of his life. Along with his love for music Steve also enjoyed being a bus driver. He worked for Dean Transportation for 17 years. He purchased his own bus and used it to take mission trips to Mexico as well as taking church groups across the states. Brother Green influenced thousands of lives through his testimony and ministry. His presence will be missed and his legacy will continue through the lives he touched. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Parker Memorial Baptist Church, 1902 E. Cavanaugh, Lansing, MI with the Rev. D.L. Green officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 15th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
