Two years ago I took in Susan's cat Dulcinea.  She still misses her real mom.

I knew Susan from working at Waverly Schools.  I remember Susan bringing a large snake and a hedgehog into our school library one time.  Susan was also a docent at Potter Park Zoo and was so excited to bring that part of her life into the school to share with her students.  She loved Chinese food, and we would meet at the local buffet and talk for hours.  During a particularly difficult time in my life, I would meet with Susan before school, and she would patiently and kindly listen to me.  Knowing she was there every day enabled me to get through some difficult days.   Those were times and memories I will never forget.  My life was richer by having Susan as my friend.

Susan was a beautiful person to know.  She had a kind heart, a big smile and a  big genuine laugh.  Whatever her endeavors, she gave them her best.    I was fortunate to work with Susan at Waverly.  She  was meticulous in her work,  and she was conscientious about her work, she did it right!   When she was responsible for training someone, she made sure that they knew how to do it right too!  I am so glad I was able to learn from the best.  As a friend, Susan had a huge heart, and was always interested in others.  Susan had an expansive and diverse knowledge base and personal history.  For as much as she was a good listener to others, she was a wonderful person to listen to.  She had much to offer those around her.  Susan, you are so missed.  With Susan’s passing, the light in the world becomes dimmer.
